Tidewater Chapterof Virginia Medical Transcriptionists (VAHDI)
The Tidewater Chapter of AAMT (AHDI) held its first informational seminar in October 1982 at the Ramada Inn in Norfolk with an overwhelming 120 attendees. In May 1983, TAAMT became a fully recognized chapter. TAAMT continues to organize a yearly symposium and has a yearly Transcriptionist of the Year award. Our chapter meetings provide informative lectures, preapproved continuing education units, and a warm atmosphere where medical transcriptionists can network and share information about medical updates and job opportunities. Over the years, we have had a great deal of support from area hospitals, physicians and community leaders. We are proud to be a part of the Virginia Association for Health Documentation Integrity (VAHDI). Symposium The 2009 Annual AHDI-Tidewater Chapter Symposium was held on May 2, 2009.
